Effective January 1, 2025, Michal Kowalski, a manager with many years of experience in strategic healthcare sectors and an expert in digital transformation, officially stepped into the position of Country Manager at Diaverum Poland.

Michal Kowalski brings nearly 20 years of strategic and operational management experience in the medical industry to Diaverum. Most recently, he served as CEO of Pallmed, a leading operator of specialized home care in Poland, within the Vivisol Group. Under his leadership, the company provided care to over 4,000 patients, supported by a team of more than 2,000 medical professionals.

Michał has been an active advocate for the development of the healthcare market in Poland. He served as Vice President of the National Association of Mechanical Ventilation Providers and co-founded the Nutrition Treatment Development Organisation. Through these initiatives, he has collaborated with the Ministry of Health, the National Health Fund, and other key stakeholders in the healthcare system.

His previous experience includes working at EMC Instytut Medyczny, where he restructured the Group's largest region in Poland and managed sales and marketing as Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to that, Michal was the founder of Angel Care, Poland's first comprehensive long-term care centre for seniors at various stages of ageing, including solutions for individuals with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Angel Care continues to set the standard in the field.

For nearly a decade, Michal was associated with Affidea, a provider of diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy services. He held management positions both locally and internationally, actively contributing to the implementation of Lean Management strategies within the company’s European structures. He shared his expertise by identifying best practices from leading centres, training local teams, and implementing efficiency improvement initiatives across Affidea centres.

"We are confident that Michal Kowalski's experience and competencies will contribute to the continued development of our company and the delivery of the highest quality care for our patients. Furthermore, Michal will play a key role in supporting our digital transformation processes. We are thrilled to have him join the Diaverum Poland team" said Rafael Romanini, COO Diaverum Europe & LatAm.

The changes to Diaverum Poland's organisational structure align with the company's long-term strategy to solidify its position as a leader in comprehensive nephrology care and to further elevate the standards of care for patients with chronic kidney disease and co-morbidities in Poland.
